Learning About Wildlife & Ecosystems
Stories can Increase impact of your listener’s connections to the outdoor world. When stories are followed with a discussion of the concerns and challenges associated with wildlife interactions in the wild and at home, they provide an opportunity to create a shared understanding for the listeners.
Stories can create a platform for:
~ Insight into the special talents and activities of wildlife to learn how they solve problems and communicate with other animals.
~Entertain with tricksters tales of rabbit and coyote. Can be combined with outdoor games and scavenger hunts.
~ What we can learn about wildlife and habitat by examining clues left behind: Tracks, scat, feathers, fur or skins..
