“Nature Detectives online was a great addition to our homeschool curriculum! My six year old daughter absolutely loved it and all the activities Miss Janice had them do – such as the letter hunt in nature, building a birds nest, making a kite, and more. Ms. Janice is warm and kind and kept the students engaged on the topic for the week and would answer all their questions and comments. Our family has truly enjoyed the online Nature Detectives program throughout the 2020-2021 school year. We love how Ms. Jan incorporated art and stories with nature and science observations, as well as provided parent guides for each of the seasonal sessions. There was a good balance of learning about nature both indoors and outdoors, even within our own backyard and neighborhood.
Having the opportunity to participate in activities that benefit real scientific research such as the Lost Lady Bug Project has been very fulfilling. Our Kindergartner always had fun while learning with real hands-on experience which is invaluable. As part of the program, her nature journal and art activities are now wonderful keepsakes.
